David DavidsonDavid Davidson is a founding member of the NCO and one of Nashville's most sought after violinists. He is a member of a rare group of musicians whose artistry crosses the traditional boundaries of musical styles by combining the worlds of classical, pop and commercial music with equal success. David is active in the recording industry as a member of the Nashville String Machine and can be heard on recordings with such artists as Amy Grant, Garth Brooks, Clint Black, Dolly Parton, Sawyer Brown and the Indigo Girls. He has recorded as soloist for Designer Music and Benson Music. His current solo releases include Prelude to Joy, for Milk & Honey Records and Silver Screen Classics and Celtic Fantasy for Green Hill Music. He has been concertmaster with the Jacksonville Symphony, the Central Florida Camerata and the Festival of American Music Chamber Orchestra. David has composed extensively for string quartet, violin and piano and other chamber ensembles. In 1990, the NCO presented the world premiere of his Suite for Djembe and Strings, for African drums and string orchestra, and in 1998 premiered Overture for Guitar and Strings, co-written with Phil Keaggy and Kristen Wilkinson and performed by Phil Keaggy. He has been a regular soloist with the NCO and is featured on the NCO's Warner Brothers release Conversations in Silence, for which he also served as co-producer with Music Director Paul Gambill.
