Katie is a violinist with the NCO and professor of violin at the University of the South, in Sewanee, where she has been on the faculty since 1995. She is also the director of admissions for the Sewanee Summer Music Festival. Katie received her undergraduate training at Eastman School of Music and the University of Kansas; she earned her Master’s degree and Certificate in Performance from Northwestern University. Katie has served as violinist of the St. Luke’s Trio, Trio Sofia, and has performed with the University of Chicago New Music Ensemble.
Katie is married to Stephen Miller, a musicologist, and has two children—Benjamin and Eva. Her beautiful surroundings in Sewanee have inspired her new pastimes of hiking and biking with her family and gardening.
