Nashville is The Capital Of Tennessee

Nashville is The Capital Of Tennessee

Nashville is the capital and the second most populous city of the US state of Tennessee. It is located on the Cumberland River in Davidson County, in the north central part of the state. A small city that feels more like a big town.

Nashville is a major hub for the health care, music, publishing, and transportation industries.

It is a unique shopping experience, with hundreds of specialty, antique, crafts and other art shops often with the artists working in shop demonstrating their trade. As a result, Nashville is often viewed as an artists colony and many artists call this community home. Artworks on exhibit and sale include water colour, sculpture, stained glass, blown glass, hand carved furniture, custom jewellery and one of a kind perfumes.

It is commonly known as Music City USA and as the world capital of Country Western Music. Country or hillbilly music was born in the 1920s soon after radio and records made it possible for local folk musicians to hear what their contemporaries were creating in other parts of the US. Country music was originally based on Scotch Irish melodies and ballads that were popular at barn dances in many rural states. It soon became popular with millions of farmers and urban factory workers across the country. Surprises people by being more diverse and cosmopolitan than they expect. Youll encounter some of the nicest people in your life, even the ones who cant carry a tune in a bucket.

The Cumberland Science Museum, which offers over 150 interactive exhibits as well as a planetarium and a New Century Computer Lab is worth a visit. The Ryman Auditorium, another tourist attraction displays its rich history in the daytime and offers musical performances in the evening. The General Jackson Showboat, is a 100 yard paddle wheeler, which cruises the Cumberland River and takes the guest back into the 19th century. Riverfront Park, with its Foxtrot carousel is the perfect spot downtown to slow down from all the excitement that Nashville has to offer.

It has a humid subtropical climate, with unusually pronounced seasons for a southern city, because of both the elevation of the area and the lack of a significant body of water nearby.

This area has a lot to offer in the way of entertainment, in either the fast paced and loud Nashville Speedway, or a quieter and more relaxing afternoon at one of its many parks. The biggest decision will be what to do and where to begin after arriving here.

The concert was a fundraiser for NRDC’s campaign to end mountain top removal in Appalachia.

Blake Shelton Tickets – Shelton Strengthens His ‘hillbilly Bone’

Blake Shelton Tickets – Shelton Strengthens His ‘hillbilly Bone’

Blake Shelton has been making top country hits for years, but he seems to have struck a chord with the music scene as a whole with his recent hit “Hillbilly Bone.” The song was created with another country star, Trace Adkins. It has raced to the number one spot on the country charts and even made headway on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, climbing all the way into the Top 40. The single is also the title track for his new album, which was released in early March 2010.

Perhaps the reason behind the song’s success is the way it shows country music as music for every man. The song starts out talking about a man from New York who discovered his “Hillbilly Bone” after traveling down South and going to a honky tonk. As the chorus states, “We all got a hillbilly bone down deep inside no matter where you from you just can’t hide it, when the band starts banging and the fiddle saws, you can’t help but hollerin’ YEE-HAW!” With the popularity of this song, Shelton may be right about everyone having a secret soft spot for country…well, at least Shelton’s brand of country.

“Hillbilly Bone” could give Blake Shelton and Trace Adkins another reason to celebrate on Sunday, April 18, when the Academy of Country Music Awards takes place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The song is up for Vocal Event of the Year. It has to beat out other top songs like “Honky Tonk Stomp” by Brooks & Dunn featuring Billy Gibbons, “I Told You So” by Carrie Underwood featuring Randy Travis, “I’m Alive” by Kenny Chesney with Dave Matthews and “Seeing Stars” by Jack Ingram featuring Patty Griffin.

More proof of Shelton’s rising star in the country music world happened on March 18, when Shelton performed at Nashville’s famed Ryman Auditorium. The show was his first as a headliner in Nashville, and the performance easily sold out. He has many upcoming dates, including many with Martina McBride, like in Greensboro, N.C.; Duluth, Ga. and Columbia, S.C. Considering the popularity of Blake Shelton tickets, fans should rush to StubHub.com to reserve a spot.

He may look like a man who is cool under fire, but Blake Shelton revealed that he will be a little on edge on March 25 when he appears on the late-night show Chelsea Lately on E! Entertainment. He has been on the say-anything show before, and he was caught off guard by the acid-tongued host, comedian Chelsea Handler. He told The Boot that he plans on doling out some of his own signature humor this time around. He laughed, “I need to redeem myself!”

Blake Shelton has been a country staple ever since he released his self-titled album in 2001. His debut yielded his first number-one song, “Austin.” He has followed a string of hit albums and top-charting songs like “The Baby,” “Some Beach,” “Home” and “She Wouldn’t Be Gone.” Shelton is also one-half of one of the power couples in country music with fellow country crooner Miranda Lambert.
